John is a proud native of Seattle (Capitol Hill) beginning his career in show business as the lead singer and trumpet of local band Pocket Change for ten years. John found a home for his comedy as the head writer and announcer for The Tricano Desales Show (AKA James Goldsmith) where the Midnight Mystery Theater was co-founded with Brian Goldsmith in 1982 as one of the show’s features. MMT recorded our first show in 1985 (The Case of the Missing Molar) and John has been writing and directing MMT ever since as studio shows or live performances.
John’s plays include Flame in the Mirror, Winter Harvest, Private Cocktails, Yesterday’s Kisses Tomorrow, What a Woman! Pirates and Saints (with Margaret Landry) The Sunflower Sisters. Eve and Eddie (with Benet Fleck) Kafka’s Getting Married, Chocolate Hearts, Bitter Sweet, Confessions of the Cocoa Luna, History Abridged, The Magic Throne, The Last Cat of Big Moon Canyon, The Garden of Paradox.
John is currently working on a musical The Curse of Grim Shadows Hall with Bob Blumenthal.

John, so glad the mystery theater at midnight lives!! I noticed you will have a one night gig for your new play in waiting on Feb. 23 at the dirftwood theater! I live in the northed and would love to see you, and play. I do not know what the play is about, but know it will be funny? Oh yeah, if you need someone to walk through the stage, . . . . or maybe kill someone then let me know.! I still have the recluse in america illistrations you gave me when we did Mockingbird in 2018!
